BLAKE WOLNEY

Most people know Blake by his radio name, The Bladerunner. Shawn listened to The Bladerunner almost religiously throughout the 90s while working as a pizza delivery driver. Whether it was his comedy sketches as he tormented hapless Wal-Mart employees or his rants over everything under the sun, he was by far the best reason to listen to local radio.

Blake got his start in movies, co-starring in Rick Walker's Sam & Janet. Shawn took the first chance he could get to offer Blake a part in one of his films, and what better film than WWZJD? Blake had a comment he made on the KATT once that stuck in Shawn's mind.

"Why is it if you come back from the dead on Easter, you are a miracle, but if you come back from the dead on Halloween, you're a zombie?"

Blake played Bart, a gas station attendant in WWZJD and we quickly cast him in our next project, The Final Detail for the character of Jerry. Up next for Blake is a starring role alongside Brandon Rush in an upcoming Starving Dogs comedy.

Starving Dogs Filmography
WWZJD (2008) ... Bart
The Final Detail (2008) ... Jerry
What is the first film you ever saw?
-The first movie I remember seeing in the theater was Bruce Lee FIST OF FURY. My older cousins took me with them. They were Mormons, I think this was against their religion. I still watch it every now and then, mostly to spite Mormons.

What is your favorite film of all time?
-American Graffiti. It was the first movie I went to with a girl, Darla H. This film was my introduction to cool. And then of course I ruined it by thinking I was cool. After seeing that movie I had my Grandma buy me a jean jacket, and I slept in it that night. I was 11...shut up.

What is your favorite line in a film?
-You gonna do something...or just stand there and bleed? Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp in Tombstone

What movie made you realize film was an art form?
-American Graffiti. The cinematography of the cars on the streets, the images of neon, tuck and roll, time period dress, greasy ass hair. It was like a photo album coming to life. All the separate stories tied together with Wolfman Jack segues. Art.

What movie do you consider your guilty pleasure?
-Car Wash. I'm a blaxploitation exploiter.

Who is your favorite movie character of all time?
- Burt Reynolds Bandit, and Darth Vader. Any movie that has a cool car where the dude gets the hot chick, like Vader...works for me.

Who is your favorite director of all time?
-I really like Robert Rodriguez attitude, not doing it like "it's always been done". And you can see it in his work. I also dig Oliver Stone and anyone else that pisses off their respective industry.

Who is the most impressive filmmaker working today?
-Shawn Lealos. This guy makes 6 or 10 movies a year.

What is the most important quality of a good actor?
-Being natural, not acting like it.

Who is your favorite actor/actress of all time?
-Deniro as a mobster, and Raquel Welch because of her hotness.

If you could remake any movie, what would it be?
-Planet of the Apes, but this time I'd use chickens.

What is your best quality as an actor?
-My hair.

Finish the sentence: A perfect movie is...
-filled with boobies and available on DVD.

What piece of advice do you have for other actors?
-Go to your first audition naked, they will all seem easier after that. And allow your ego to get the shit kicked out of it, because it will.

Other than movies, what are you most passionate about?
- Cool cars, and praying that the Two Coreys can work it all out.
